The annual conference of the Alliance of Independent Press Councils in Europe (AIPCE) will be taking place on 5 - 6 September 2024 in London, hosted by Impress. Attendees will hear the latest on trends and challenges facing press councils and independent journalists at this two-day conference.
"Impress is delighted to be welcoming representatives of press councils to the annual conference of AIPCE. We are really looking forward to the contributions of all representatives, experts and partner organisations to make this year another success for the alliance and a testament to the collaboration and values of journalism and independent self-regulation." - Lexie Kirkconnell-Kawana, CEO of Impress.
The first day will convene the AIPCE Annual General Meeting, where members will contribute to, discuss and vote on relevant matters. Non-members will have the opportunity to attend and learn about key decisions.
The second day is centred around learning and growth to support the transformation of press organisations in the digital age. It will feature a range of panel discussions and presentations covering key topics such as AI, reducing misinformation, public trust and regulatory practices (including a workshop session on high-profile complaints case studies).
